This was done with the assistance of the head of the conservation unit for Asity Madagascar, a birdlife organisation.\u00a0 \u00a0The ground will be prepared before planting 10,000 endemic tree seedlings; 7000 of these have already been planted and the remainder will be soon.<\/h5>\n<h5>The forest restored in 2020 has been maintained and any trees that died have been replaced from the nursery.<\/h5>\n<h5><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15691 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/moneyformadagascar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Reforestation-Mitsinjo-May-21-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/moneyformadagascar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Reforestation-Mitsinjo-May-21-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/moneyformadagascar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Reforestation-Mitsinjo-May-21-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/moneyformadagascar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Reforestation-Mitsinjo-May-21-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/moneyformadagascar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Reforestation-Mitsinjo-May-21.jpg 957w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5>500 fast-growing tree seedlings were distributed to families for domestic use.\u00a0 The aim is to use the wood from these trees for fuel and construction rather than cut down the natural forest.\u00a0 Obviously, it will be a while before the benefits of this part of the programme can be quantified, but it is certainly a positive step in reducing the destruction of natural habitat.<\/h5>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5>In total, an area of 38 hectares of forest has been restored since the start of the project in 2015 and 0.28 ha has been planted with fruit trees since 2020.\u00a0 This is a fantastic achievement.<\/h5>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5>Future plans for the project over the next few months include training in market gardening and in potato cultivation.<\/h5>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miala tsiny fa tsy mbola misy amin&#8217;ny teny malagasy ity lahatsoratra ity.
