MfM, our partners and Malagasy community members have seeded a thousand-tree forest close to the Malagasy capital Antananarivo.<\/em><\/h4>\n

Money for Madagascar has revisited a location in which we last year planted 600 trees, to check on progress, and add new trees to the burgeoning forest.<\/h4>\n

To mark the World Week of Harmony with nature, an MfM team on Wednesday (18th February 2026) joined members of our partner organisation Working Together for the Development of Madagascar (WTDM), other partners and community savings groups from Ambohimanambola commune for a reforestation operation in Ambohimahatsinjo in the commune.<\/h4>\n

We had last visited the site<\/a> on 21st March last year, when we and members of WTDM, the Green Tree Association, Association Miarintsoa, Ankizy Gasy, and the AAF and AAA-B children\u2019s centres planted 600 trees.<\/h4>\n

On Wednesday, we were delighted to confirm that more than 90 per cent of those 60 trees had survived and are growing well, and we and almost 100 other people pruned and helped encourage their continued growth, as well as planting an extra 410 trees, seeding a thousand tree forest.<\/h4>\n

We extend our sincere thanks to all the participants, including the Mayor of the Commune of Ambohimanambola and his team, and the head of the fokontany of Ambohimahatsinjo, who participated in this excellent environmental initiative.<\/h4>\n

The World Week of Harmony With Nature\u2019s slogan this year is \u2018Who plants a tree, gives a life\u2019.<\/h4>\n

Because the world relies on its forests for the survival of all species, this event, and the forest we are all developing, goes far beyond even that excellent aim.<\/h4>\n
