The Centre Fihavanana is a day centre in the Malagasy capital Antananarivo, helping vulnerable and homeless children to recover their health and dignity and to re-enter mainstream education and society. Helping more than 150 children aged 5-18 to access education, vocational training and address problems associated with homelessness, alcoholism, drug addiction, lack of official documentation and unemployment.
The Centre Fihavanana, run by Sisters Of the Good Shepherd (SOGS) supports more than 150 children, aged 5-18, with:

Pre-school, literacy & numeracy classes, and catch-up classes to help children get into mainstream education

Vocational training for teenage girls, family planning lessons, preparation for girls and young women starting up an independent business

Family meetings to address problems including homelessness, alcoholism, drug addiction, lack of paperwork and unemployment

Follow-up & sponsorship of children entering mainstream education

Health checks & treatment by doctor and dentist

Nutritional meals and snacks twice a day

Follow-up of teenaged girls after graduation.
