Tuesday October 4th, 2022
We have several events taking place this autumn in and around Lancaster, where you can learn more about our work, help us out and buy products to raise funds for us.
Williamson Park Café
Come and see an exhibition in the café about our work. There is a lot of information, pictures, posters about latest events and some original paintings of Madagascar rural life, which are for sale in aid of our famine appeal. The paintings were kindly donated by the artist Jacinta Thomas.
Pop in for a coffee and read all about us!
Annual Mailing Stuffing – Wednesday 12th October 4:30-7:30pm
Join us at the MfM drop-in and have a go at envelope stuffing! Come and learn more about Money for Madagascar! Talk with staff, volunteers and like-minded people about the charity.
Lancaster Friends Meeting House in Room 1. Refreshments will be provided.
Let us know if you plan to attend by emailing admin@moneyformadagascar.org or just turn up: it’s open to anyone willing to lend a hand!
Book Sale, Christ Church Lancaster – Sunday 23rd October from noon
Proceeds from the book sale will be donated to MfM. We will also have a stall with Malagasy hand-made crafts and chocolate made in Madagascar from our supporter MIA Chocolate. Aloe Vera plants, a common medicine in Madagascar, will also be on sale. It’s your chance to find out more about MfM and how you could get involved.
Lancaster Green Christmas Fair – 19th November
This big social event has dozens of stalls and a vegetarian café. It’s run by the Green Party and takes place at the Friends’ Meeting House from 10:00am – 4:00pm. It’s a great chance to buy some ethical Christmas presents from a whole host of stalls including the MfM stall which will have ‘alternative gifts’, 2023 calendars, Christmas cards, chocolate and crafts.
Come along for a fun day out!
Millennium Choir Concert – 25th November
Since the Choir’s Founder Andy Whitfield first visited Akany Avoko children’s centre in 2000, Lancaster Millennium Choir has fundraised for Akany Avoko and MfM. As more choir members visited Akany Avoko and more still signed up to sponsor children or work or volunteer for MfM the commitment of the choir has been very important to MfM.
Now we invited to come along to this concert at the Gregson Centre on Friday the 25th of November, to raise your spirits and hopefully also raise some funds for Madagascar. MfM will have a festive stall with crafts, chocolate, cards and 2023 calendars and ‘alternative gifts’. These gifts give double the joy. They will delight your friend who receives the gift and also help to transform a life in Madagascar. See you there!
