Get Ready for the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2024!
Mark your calendars! Our Big Give Christmas Challenge is back, and this year, your donation can have an even greater impact on the lives of vulnerable children in rural Madagascar. The campaign will be live from midday on 3rd December to midday on 10th December – just one week to make an incredible difference!
Why This Appeal is Special:
When you donate to MfM’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, your gift will go FOUR times further! Thanks to generous pledgers and matching partners, every donation made during the campaign will be matched first on the Big Give platform, and then doubled again by a Foundation that believes in the power of education to transform lives.
That means £1 becomes £4 – quadrupling the impact of your support!
How Your Donation Changes Lives:
Our Education for Life Programme is transforming the lives of hundreds of children by improving the quality of education in some of Madagascar’s most remote communities. By focusing on students, teachers, and parents, we’re strengthening entire communities and unlocking long-term benefits like better jobs, health, nutrition, and natural resource management.
But the challenges are immense:
- 1 in 10 children in Madagascar doesn’t survive to their 10th birthday.
- 40% of children don’t complete primary school.
- Hunger, illness, and lack of resources keep children out of school, while teachers desperately need training and tools to improve their classes.
Your donation will help tackle all these barriers, providing the tools and support these children and their families need to escape poverty and build a better future.
What will a donation via the Big Give achieve?
- £10 could be worth £40 which could provide equipment for a school canteen
- £1000 would be £4000 which could provide 4 School Resource Libraries
- £100 could be £400 which could cover the annual cost of teacher training in one school
How the Match Works:
All donations made on the Big Give Website from midday on 3rd December to midday on 10th December will be doubled on the site (up to our £30,000 target).
Add Gift Aid, and that will also be doubled on the Big Give platform.
After the campaign closes, a Foundation partner will double the total raised offline, meaning if we reach our target of £30,000, it will be doubled to a grand total of £60,000 for our Education for Life programme!
Can’t Donate Online? No Problem!
If you can’t donate through the Big Give website, you can still contribute. Donations made directly to MfM through our usual channels (bank transfer, cheque, or via our MfM donation page) will still be doubled by our Foundation supporter – they just won’t benefit from the doubling on the Big Give platform.
