The Story of Lalao Victor Mamainirina
“The AAA (Akany Avoko Ambohidratrimo) and AAB (Akany Avoko Bevalala) Centre has been my life and is more than my family. I arrived at the AAB Centre when I was 18 months old, gravely ill and not expected to survive. The parents of Irenée, the current Director of Money for Madagascar, donated blood to help me survive at that time. The Educators at the Centre were not disappointed to receive and care for me in my very vulnerable state. I was raised in a family that showed me a lot of love. Indeed, thanks to their efforts, I have survived until now. The Centre’s role in my life is immeasurable.
In 2019, I was transferred to the Annex Centre for Boys in Bevalala. I learned many things there, such as the English language, eco-friendly charcoal making, vegetable gardening, music, coaching, sports, and much more. I attended school but could not continue my original studies due to head injuries from a motorbike accident. Thus, I later specialised in photography, studying multimedia at E-media University in Ampandrana, Antananarivo. Subsequently, I was accepted as a Communications Intern with MfM from 2023 to now, and the AAA and AAB Centre have recruited me as a photographer.
Being able to work for the Centre, which has been my home since childhood, is a source of pride for me. Thanks to the Centre’s support, I feel mature and can take charge of my life. I decided to get married to finally start a real family and provide a role model for the Centre’s children, who see me as their big brother.
On Saturday, May 4th, 2024, I married Marie Anita Rahrimalatiana, who has also interned at the AAA Centre. It was an unforgettable day for me because, from that day on, I could be the head of a family I must care for and teach how to live in a real family. I will never forget the support and help of all the people who helped me become who I am today, and I extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to them.”
